Unhelpful thoughts like to convince us that we don't have the ability to choose our actions. They can also convince us that we are our thoughts.
Although we cannot control whether an unhelpful thought enters our minds, we don't have to buy into them if they don't help us to live a fulfilling life. Most importantly, we all have the power to decide what actions we want to take in spite of unhelpful thoughts.
This week I challenge you to simply notice any unhelpful thoughts you may encounter and to ask yourself if the action you're about to take brings you closer to, or further away from your goals and values. See if even with the presence of unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and sensations, you can take steps towards the life that you want to live.
